Racing – Briefing notes

19 June Saturday – Lansdowne

Stage 1 – PROLOGUE (ITT)

  • ITT Riders will depart at 30 second intervals.
  • Riders need to be at the Marshalling Area at least 15 min prior to their scheduled start.
  • Competitors are to remain in the vicinity of the Start area, after their attendance are marked at the Marshalling area.
  • Riders will start at their allocated times. See Race Schedule.
  • Riders encountering a recognised Mechanical Mishap in the first 100 metres may be granted a re-start.
  • If a rider is late for the prologue start the rider will start at the next available 15 or 45sec gap.
  • Riders must ensure they do not draft the rider in front of them. Riders suspected of drafting a rider by less than 25 metres, in front, may be disqualified.
  • Riders must overtake to the RIGHT of the rider in front.
  • For J15 and J17 ITT Riders, you will be doing more than 1 lap around the track. Please be aware that there will be riders on their second lap may be passing you as you start, check before entering the track.
  • When riders finish the ITT, after crossing the finish line, they are to keep to the left hand road shoulder and exit the track at the carpark.

Stage 2 – KERMESSE

  • Kermesse is based on TIME or LAPS which ever comes first.
  • There will be interim sprints / Prime for J11, J13, J15 and J17.
  • Bonus time/points will be allocated to the finish positions of these prime. See Bonus time/points table below.
  • There is NO Lap out for mechanical.
  • Riders need to be at the Marshalling Area at least 15 min prior to their scheduled start.
  • There will be ROLL-OUT for top 5 riders AFTER each race. The ROLL-OUT area is near the toilet block in Lansdowne.
  • When riders finish their race, after crossing the finish line, they are to exit the track at the carpark.

HANDICAP

  • Handicap is a Stand Alone event with no point or time allocated to the General Classification of the tour. However, there are PRIZES for the top 5.
  • Handicap race is a combined age group race. E.g. JG13 and JB13 will be racing together.
  • The order of the start will be based on the PROLOGUE result time.
  • Riders need to be at the Marshalling Area at least 15 min prior to their start.
  • When riders finish the race, after crossing the finish line, they are to exit the track at the carpark.

20 June Sunday – Oakville

Stage 3 – ROAD RACE

  • This is an OPEN road racing. Care must be taken at ALL TIMES. Riders are to ride on the LEFT of the road during the race.
  • Riders must be present for the race briefing, at the marshalling area in the Oakville Public School Carpark, 15 minutes prior to scheduled race start.
  • There are 2 circuits: 7km circuit for J13, J15 and J17 and 3km circuit for Participation, J9 and J11.
  • At all times, no rider is allowed to OVERTAKE the Lead Car. They are there to protect you from oncoming traffic.
  • Parents or guardians are permitted to RIDE with younger juniors (e.g. Participation & J9) on the 3km circuit.
  • The only vehicles to be within the race convoy are those with official duties and identified with race signage. Due to safety reasons, NO spectators are allowed to follow riders or tow riders in their vehicles. Any outside vehicle following the event, identified with any competitor in the race, may cause disqualification of that competitor.
  • Only J15 and J17 age groups will be allowed spares. Riders are advised to place your spare wheels in the designated Spare Wheels Area near the Oakville Public School carpark gate, at least 30 minutes before race start. There will be signs to indicate the age groups.
  • There will be ROLL-OUT for top 5 riders AFTER each race, at the designated ROLL-OUT area.
  • Bonus time/points will be allocated to the finish positions of the road race.

Note

  • If the rider is not able to finish a Stage in the tour for some reasons. He or she will be allocated the TIME of the last finishing rider plus 60 seconds.
